    EDUCATIONAL GRANT
    The Mr. & Mrs H P Gooneratne Charitable Educational Grant is a unique educational grant scheme established with the personal funds of the Gooneratne family. The scheme was launched by the children of HASL’s Founder Chairman the Late Mr. H P Gooneratne, with the aim of supporting HASL Staff in meeting expenses towards their children’s education.
    The Grant scheme was inaugurated in December 2015 where 25 beneficiaries received educational grants.

  • Distribution of School Bags, Stationery and Shoes for
    Flood Affected School children
    The Youth Education Programme (YEP) of HelpAge Sri Lanka (HASL) conducted a programme under the “ respect your own parents and grandparents and care for them in your own home” theme,  at Pahala Hanwella Junior School,  Hanwella on 11th July 2016.  This programme was funded by the Sri Lanka Chartered Accountants working at Qatar. Mr. Kishodaran Letchumanan, Mr. Sudarshana Wijesundara and Mr. Sujeewa Ranasinghe represented the  Chartered Accountant group of Qatar at this awareness programme and donated to each student, a valuable school bag, stationery and a cash voucher to purchase shoes.
