Through the Youth Education Programme, school children are educated and made aware of the natural phenomena of ageing, the importance of caring for senior citizens and how to treat them with dignity and respect. Training programmes are conducted in schools around the country to highlight these growing issues and concerns.

Under this Programme, a national essay competition is held every year to enable children to express their views on issues of senior citizens. It is held in all three languages to facilitate participation of all children.          There is also a Tree Planting Project introduced in schools to build awareness of herbs, their medicinal properties and the importance of their preservation.
